Before the event

Tocal Field Days operates over 3 days within the grounds of Tocal Agricultural College, on Tocal Road at Tocal, just 12 minutes from Maitland CBD or 5 minutes from Paterson in the Hunter Valley, NSW. The college has an operating Dairy Enterprise supplying milk to Norco, Numerella Egg Farm which supplies to Pace Farms, Bee Research Centre and provides education and courses to students in Agriculture and Horse Care.

Traffic can be heavy during the field days. Our suggestion is to check on Google Maps or other Maps App how long the suggested travel time is from your location and add at least 30 minutes.

Tocal Field Days has significant free parking available on site.

Gates open to our visitors each morning at 9am. The event closes at 5pm on Friday and Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.

  • Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. The Tocal Field Days will proceed regardless of the weather forecast.
  • Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. There is 55 acres of shop fronts to explore.
  • Bring a hat and sunscreen.
  • Pack some water. There are also plenty of options for food and drink within the Good Food & Wine precinct, Eat Street and The Wedge.

There are over 26 commercial caterers, 6 community catering organisations and 40+ Good Food and Wine exhibitors located throughout the event. You will find anything from the classic steak sandwich to gourmet choices.

Dogs are not permitted on site. The only exceptions are dogs that form part of an exhibit or demonstration and dogs classified as companion animals or guide dogs. Relevant paperwork is required in either case.

At the event

An ATM is available behind the site office. Charges for withdrawals do apply.

Yes. For those large purchases you can’t or don’t want to carry around all day, ask the seller for a ‘Parcel Pick Up’ form. You can drop your completed form to the site office to arrange for your parcel to be waiting for you in the car park on departure. Please allow up to 90 minutes for your parcel to make it to the car park. Tocal Field Days Association proudly employs students of the College to fulfill roles in this area.

Tocal Field Days is a licenced event and therefore BYO alcohol is not permitted through the gates. A public bar is available in Eat Street and there will also be tastings, by-the-glass and take away only sales available within the Good Food and Wine precinct and Eat Street.

Tocal Field Days is a wheel-chair friendly event, though please be aware that some paths are gravel. We also operate the ‘Hop & Go’ shuttle for the duration of each day. This drops at 4 key points on the Ring Road and you can flag one down at these stops or anywhere on the Ring Road.
